Day 8: Being in the same vicinity as Eiffel Tower is magical enough.

I've decided that Eiffel Tower is my most favourite thing in Paris.

No, wait, wait ah... OK, Eiffel Tower is my most favourite place in Paris, and it's my second favourite thing here. Because, you know, my most favourite thing in Paris is Mama's food for us, which includes the desserts. Mmm. The desserts...

Anyway.

Since the moment Mama had taken us to see Eiffel up close during the day, i've been asking Shah to take me there again, but at night. The thing with Shah is, he doesn't really know what time he can leave his office everyday, so on the nights he leaves early, we would go out exploring. Two nights after seeing Eiffel from Trocadero with Mama, Shah came home a little early, so off we went!

We had to take two trains to get to Trocadero station. As we walked up the escalator from the station, there was a group of tourists talking excitedly to each other, Americans i think. Shah and i could hear one of the girls in the group asking impatiently, "Where IS it??".

Shah and i and the group got to the observation place at the same time as the group did. The moment Eiffel came into view, the same girl, i assumed, screamed "Oh my God! There it is!!!" and she started to jump up and down.

Shah and i looked at each other and started to laugh. Because man, can i relate. At least she had the excuse of being super close to Eiffel to jump up and down. I was miles away from it when i saw it and hopped in excitement. But i think that's the general effect Eiffel has on girls. No, on people in general, but girls are just braver when it comes to showing emotions openly. And like the other day, the observation place is full of people looking at Eiffel and taking photos.

Eiffel looks even more beautiful and magical at night. I'm sure there are some people who think Eiffel is over hyped  and that it's just a building or whatever, but me, i absolutely adore it, and i love, love staring at it.

We were there a little before 10pm. And i've read a while ago online that Eiffel Tower "sparkles", but i didn't really understand what that meant. But i was about to understand it in a while.

Because at 10pm on the dot, suddenly Eiffel Tower sparkled. It really did!

There were whoops of joy from loads of people at the deck. It was amazing! I just sighed and leaned down on Shah's shoulder and stared at it for a while. That's it, i am now a complete sucker for Eiffel and its sparkliness.

It went on for 5 minutes, and when it ended you could hear people going "Awwwww!". As in "We want more!".

Shah told me that Eiffel sparkled every hour, so i that cheered me up a bit after getting dismayed at seeing Eiffel stopped sparkling.

We then walked down from the deck and headed towards the tower.

So i'll just let the photos do the most of the talking for now, shall i? These are what we saw as we drew nearer to Eiffel.

Once in a while we stopped to take photos and stare at it some more

We got someone to take a photo of us (female, with her partner, obviously in love, which was why i entrusted her with my camera)

Then we were right below it!

Shah admiring the "engineering" or whatever it was
Shah said the first time he came here, he wanted to touch the steel, but all four bases were blocked. I immediately wailed, "What? You've been here? Dengan siapa?? I thought you tengok dari jauh je!" and good thing he had the sense to visit the place by himself. His colleague had accompanied him to Trocadero, but then Shah walked by himself to where we were at. I'm just a drama queen like that.

That's Mr Eiffel's statue. Or rather, his head and shoulders' statue
It was already late on a weeknight, so not many people in line by that time

The tower really did look spectacular. All the metals and steels were quite beautiful to me, and then you add on the lighting - it's all very gorgeous, in my eyes. Praise Allah for giving men the intelligence to come up with something so incredible.

We spent quite some time there, simply taking it all in.

Then it was time to head home.

Shah queuing up for my chocolat chaud and his nutella crepes. There are about two carousels like this one along the way, i think, very pretty. Adults can go on them too!

11pm! We drank the hot chocolate and ate the nutella crepes while watching another sparkly show. I know the still photos don't show "sparkles" but there should be hundreds or thousands maybe of little lights all over Eiffel, and when the lights turn on and off at different places at different times, Eiffel looks like it is literally sparkling.

Dua-dua muka nakal, tapi Shah lagi nakal
Bye Eiffel, see you soonnn

Heading back to the observation place to take our Metro back
I had a fantastic night <3 . Shah and i decided to go up Eiffel on a weeknight soon, to stay away from the weekend crowd. Exciteddd.

Until my next one!
